Egress window installation costs — Athens-Clarke County, GA

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

When you look at replacing windows, the final number depends on a few moving parts. The biggest factor is the frame material—vinyl is usually the most budget-friendly, while wood or fiberglass carries a higher price tag. The style of window also matters; a simple double-hung unit costs less to install than a large bay or bow window. You will also want to consider the glass packages, like double versus triple pane, which affect energy efficiency. Complexity of the job, such as needing lead paint remediation or structural repairs, can add to the total. Exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

About this service

Installing egress windows means creating a large, compliant opening for fire safety. Homeowners need this when adding bedrooms below grade. The work includes structural engineering, foundation cutting, and drainage installation. Since the complexity of the excavation and the specific window model change the total, the investment is typically in the thousands; exact pricing confirmed free on the call.
